God—and Caring Foster Parents—Made the Difference

The vicious downward spiral of poverty and neglect started two generations ago. Thomas’ mother, Natalya, lived on the streets of Ukraine until she was six. Her mother was an alcoholic and her father was in prison, so she was left to fend for herself.

But our gracious God spared Natalya from continuing the spiral by stepping in with His own thoughtful plan. A loving foster family cared for and raised Natalya until she came of age. They scraped together enough money to help her find a small home to raise her son, Thomas. Natalya is also now connected to a local ministry that has embraced them both.

Some recent gifts took care of essential repairs and hot water that Natalya’s house needed, so now she can focus on giving her energetic two-and-a-half-year-old the chance to thrive in a warm, safe home. Please continue to pray for Thomas and his mother; she is doing her utmost to provide for him as he grows. What a blessing that Thomas can grow up surrounded by his mother’s love and care! But please pray for others like Thomas and Natalya who need a helping hand to simply survive together as a family. This Thanksgiving season, as we remember God’s loving care in our own lives, won’t you lift up these needy families and ask God to show them His hand of mercy and provision?
