Thankful Hearts

“What is the traditional food that you eat on Thanksgiving?” asked a Ukrainian mother of three. After being displaced by conflict, she received an AFFEO greenhouse and Seeds of Hope box. She went on to say, “I want to make a Thanksgiving feast with the vegetables we have because of you and give thanks to you and God for this food for me and my children. It’s a blessing.”

This mother’s words are a poignant testimony to the part you played in praying for the recipients of AFFEO greenhouses and Seeds of Hope! Your prayers helped meet the needs of vulnerable families so that children remained safe in their care—and so that all have an opportunity to know the tangible love of God. Thank you!

We also want to praise God for other ways He has worked in the past year — for the thousands of children who were reunited with parents, supported to remain with their families, or welcomed into new forever homes — all in their own countries. Vulnerable teens aging out of orphanages found mentorship and life skills. Families under strain received training, tools, and resources to stay together. And local leaders were equipped to bring lasting change for children to their communities. Your prayers were a large part of these efforts!

God’s design for children to be raised in families guides everything AFFEO does. Every child deserves the safety, permanency, and love of a family — and together, we are making that a reality by are working to

• protect children from trafficking, exploitation, and isolation by connecting them to safe families and communities.

• strengthen families so they can remain together, even in the face of poverty, stigma, or crisis.

• equip local leaders to create lasting solutions that keep children where they belong — in the love and safety of family.

In this season of thanksgiving, we want to thank you for your ongoing prayers, which help ensure that more children are seen, known, and given the chance to grow up surrounded by love. We are so grateful for you! May you truly experience a blessed Thanksgiving.
