Christ is risen!
He is risen indeed!
During this joyous Easter season, as we are praising God for His unspeakable gift to us, we are also thanking Him for you, and the way He has called you to care for the orphaned and the fatherless.Your prayers help make change possible—transforming families today and impacting generations to come.
Here’s one incredible story of hope that you helped make happen.
Just before Easter, a young Ukrainian family received their long-awaited miracle: in early March their father, Pavlo, was returned to Ukraine in a 200-person prisoner exchange with Russia!
For nearly two years his wife Maryana raised their two young children alone, with very limited resources, while Pavlo was missing in action. She carried the unbearable weight of not knowing whether he had been killed or was languishing in a Russian prison.
But because of your faithful prayers, Maryana was not alone. She and her family were consistently cared for by one of AFFEO’s long-time partners—receiving firewood, Seeds of Hope, a greenhouse, and more. These were not mere provisions; they were lifelines. They brought stability, food security, and the capacity for Maryana to care for her children, emotionally and spiritually.Because of your prayers for Seeds of Hope recipients, this family—and others—have been protected and lives have been forever changed.
Join us in praying for Pavlo as he continues to recover in the hospital from the physical injuries and trauma he endured on the battlefield and in prison. Please ask the Lord to grant Pavlo the healing he needs to return home to his family.
We are also thrilled to share that over 1,500 families have now received Seeds of Hope boxes this spring—with thousands more on the way! This past week alone, 300 of those boxes went to the families of fallen soldiers.
Andriy, our partner who leads this effort in Ukraine, told us, “Families have flooded my phone with messages of gratitude. Many are going through unimaginable hardship after a long winter. These seed boxes are so much more than seeds—they are a message that families are not forgotten. They are everything.” Please pray with us as our partners continue to distribute Seeds of Hope boxes—that they would somehow get to the families most in need. Thank you!
This Easter, as we remember the hope we have in Christ, please also know the hope you are bringing into the lives of so many children and families. We are so grateful for you! It is truly a joy to be on this journey together.
