Boundless hope. The theme of this year’s report reflects not only our vision for the coming years, but also the deep faith that fuels our work — faith that with God’s guidance, no challenge is insurmountable, and no child is beyond the reach of restoration.

Looking ahead, AFFEO will continue to focus on programs that help children remain in, reunite with, or regain a family.

Here are some key priorities we have for 2025:

• Protect a child’s right to a family by developing and strengthening new services and models of care for children and families. These efforts not only respond to the urgent needs of today, but lay the foundation for lasting change to serve children for generations to come.

• Strengthen families to prevent child and family separation by targeting and supporting the most vulnerable families that have been impacted by war, poverty, disease, and disability, including families with children with disabilities.

• Promote trauma-based relational intervention (TBRI) for orphans and vulnerable children who have experienced relational trauma, giving them the hope and resilience they need to thrive, and preventing further trauma or family separation.

• Empower local communities and churches to care for children. By providing training and capacity building, families, caregivers, and local leaders will be prepared with the skills and knowledge they need to create safe and supportive environments where children can flourish.
