Efforts to Rescue Ukraine’s Stolen Children Still Need Our Prayers!
Abduction. Militarization. Terror. Despair. These are not just words — they are the lived reality of countless Ukrainian teenage boys.
In June, AFFEO president and a few team members traveled to Washington, D.C., with our trusted partner Mykola Kuleba, CEO of Save Ukraine. Their goal? To share the truth with U.S. leaders about what is happening to Ukrainian children in Russia and occupied territories.
With the group were Vlad and his mother, Tetiana. At just 16 years of age, Vlad was abducted by Russian forces and taken to a military academy, where he and hundreds of other Ukrainian teens were being systematically trained to fight against Ukraine.
But thanks to Save Ukraine‘s unwavering efforts, along with gifts from AFFEO, Vlad was rescued. As you know from past updates (including 12/19/22; 04/13/23; 01/09/24), Mykola and the Save Ukraine team have worked tirelessly for years to reunite families like Vlad’s — leading Ukrainian parents on long, complex journeys deep into Russian territory to retrieve their children.
Your prayers are still vitally needed! Although Vlad and Tetiana are safe and together again, thousands of children like Vlad remain trapped in Russian-controlled territory. Can you imagine being taken from your home, conscripted, and trained to fight against your own country? According to Vlad, many of his Ukrainian friends from the Russian camp from which he was rescued are now on the frontlines, being used as cannon fodder.
Won’t you please pray for other teenage boys like Vlad who are still awaiting rescue? Only the Lord can make these rescue efforts successful and totally heal Ukrainian boys from the trauma they have experienced and are experiencing.
Please also especially pray for the Save Ukraine team—that the Lord would daily supernaturally rejuvenate them — and protect them — to carry on with their invaluable work. They must travel many miles through very difficult and dangerous situations to reunite these abducted teens with their families. Once the children are home, the Save Ukraine team also walks the families —like Vlad’s — through the healing process, supporting them and helping to provide for their emotional, spiritual and physical futures.
Thank you for your ongoing prayers that help bring restoration to lives once torn apart!
