Thanks to the prayers and support of friends like you, AFFEO is fueling a unique church-based welfare effort in Ghana. The goal? To make local churches the hub of help and encouragement to struggling families, some of whom are so poor that they have considered placing their children in institutions because they simply cannot afford to feed them.
One such family is The Ocansey family. They live in a shelter in Lashibi, a suburb of Accra. Mom Vero has been striving to make ends meet by washing clothes. Now thanks to AFFEO support, she is excited that she’s able to feed her three children and enroll them in school.
This paradigm of the Church being the source of such blessings — instead of the State — is having a powerful impact. It’s shining gospel light in the hardest places, where people are often trying desperately to survive on two dollars per day.
Won’t you pray that funds will continue so many more can be helped? These efforts not only help children to remain in families but, in some cases, they also make it possible for children who have been sent away to be reunited with their families.
Your prayers are making a difference that lasts a lifetime! Thank you.
