Please Pray as Seeds of Hope Reach Ukraine

It has been more than four years since Russia invaded Ukraine — a day that changed everything for millions of families. But because of your prayers and AFFEO gifts, children and families in Ukraine did not face this past winter alone.

Last spring AFFEO provided nearly 5,000 families with Seeds of Hope vegetable boxes. The vegetables they harvested and preserved from these seeds were vital—they supplied simple, nourishing food that sustained families when fresh food was scarce, markets were disrupted, and electricity outages made cooking unpredictable or impossible.

But the need continues, so we are asking for your prayers again. As we are launch our Seeds of Hope effort this spring, our goal is to reach 7,500 families with Seeds of Hope boxes.

Many of these boxes are distributed to families most at risk of separation, including military families with a family member serving on the front lines; displaced mothers and war widows raising children alone; and families under great economic strain. Please pray that AFFEO partners will be directed to the families who would otherwise have no hope.

Eachseedbox includes vegetable seeds (such as beets, carrots, tomatoes cabbage, cucumbers and onions), flower seeds (to plant as a sign of beauty and hope amid hardship) and “mustard seeds” (a note of spiritual encouragement plus an invitation to connect with our local ministry partners, offering community, prayer, and ongoing support).

Seeds of Hope Project Lead Andriy told us, “Seeds of Hope had an unimaginable impact for families. Because we worked through trusted partners, people were willing to accept help—and the seeds [last year] were good and truly fruitful. After a winter with heavy snow, the soil is rich with water, and if we can get seeds into the ground early, this year’s harvest can be even stronger. We’ve met more families and villages through this work, and we know we can do more.”

Please print and post this request somewhere visible and continually lift up Seeds of Hope in your prayers this spring! Ask that the Lord would lead us to just the families He has intended. We thank God for partners like Andriy who can help get seeds to those who desperately need them!

Thank you for standing with Ukrainian families through your prayers as this next season unfolds.
