Vihaan’s Future Moves from Bleak to Hopeful

Earlier this summer, because of the generosity of people like you, vulnerable children in India began receiving basic, necessary daily care. And this care helps children remain in their families!

Children receive daily hot meals, hygiene kits, tutoring, emotional support, school supplies, and community — all in a safe, nurturing after-school program run by one of our AFFEO partners. It is helping children thrive!

One of those children is Vihaan. After the unexpected death of his father, Vihaan and his mother — who works as a day laborer — were left struggling. They faced not only a lack of food and education supplies, but were threatened with separation if Vihaan’s daily needs were not met. In addition to those stresses, they were dealing with deep emotional grief.

But, with help from AFFEO, our partner’s after-school program gave Vihaan the support he needed! He now has school supplies, a uniform, books, and nutritious meals. In addition he is receiving frequent counseling and emotional support to help him process the loss of his father.

“Vihaan is now continuing his education, showing steady academic progress and is growing in confidence. With ongoing support, he is beginning to dream again and looks forward to a more hopeful future,” our partner told us. And Vihaan’s mother no longer fears separation from her child and hugs him tightly every day when he returns home safely into her loving arms.

We thank God for providing for Vihaan and others like him—children whose future would otherwise be very bleak. Please pray that the Lord would continue to provide the funds necessary for this instrumental after-school program to meet the basic needs of many Indian children. And pray with us that Vihaan and other program recipients would continue to thrive and move toward their dreams. Your prayers can help them realize their full potential!

We are grateful that Psalm 68:5 reminds us that God is “a father to the fatherless, a defender of widows.” Thank you for helping make His love visible to families like Vihaan’s when they need it most.
